Reset to Defaul

There is a few ways to reset your device running OSWave to factory default settings:

1. Using OSReset software for Windows.

This utility is available for download at http://www.osbridge.com/download/OSReset_1.04.exe . It will locate any compatible OSWave running device regardless of its IP address, located on the local LAN subnetwork. After selecting the device you want to reset enter “Reset to Default Password” in the Password: field and press “Reset to default” button.

If you have changed Reset to Default Password to one you no longer remember then please email us at support@oswave.com stating device type and MAC Address and we will provide you one time, generated password that will let you reset the device to factory default settings.

2. Using the Reset button.

Please turn the device off, press and hold the reset button on the PCB, turn the device on and wait approximately 20 seconds. The device will revert to factory default settings and reboot automaticaly.

3. Using built in bootloader options.

If all of the above methods fail then use following method. This one is a little bit more complicated that the previous ones and should only be used if all other methods fail.

- Configure ip address on your computer (linux based preferably) to 192.168.1.23 netmask 255.255.255.0

- on the console shell please type:

telnet -r 192.168.1.7 9000

but don’t press enter just yet.

- power on the device – as soon as the ethernet LED stops to blink press enter on the shell console to execute the ‘telnet’ command (please note that we only have two seconds to press enter) – the following should appear:

After connecting please press CTRL+C. Important: the telnet client must be run in so called character mode (hence the -r switch) so it sends each character separately.

Now, please enter:

fis erase -f 0xBFC50000 -l 0x00100000

And you should see:

Now, please proceed to stage two, firmware/configuration restore:

  • You need to obtain tftp server software, the free one for Windows is available at http://tftpd32.jounin.net/
  • Install tftpd32.exe into the catalog where firmware files are located
  • Rename the OSWave firmware file into zImage
  • Change your computer IP address to 192.168.1.23 netmask 255.255.255.0
  • Connect the device to the computer via cross-over cable or via network switch
  • Turn on the device, it should initiate the TFTP transfer automaticaly, automaticaly reflash and reboot itself with all new default configuration settings.
